Honey Heart Cafe Website

This is a website for the imagined Honey Heart Cafe that I created branding for. This website would be the business website for this particular client. It is meant to be fun and colorful, as well as provide an overview of all that the client has to offer customers. It was inspired by other fun food related business websites, such as Chip New York City and Cha Cha Matcha. The lower image is a website mockup made on Adobe XD. Project: Honey Heart Cafe Style Guide (Website)

This is a website for the imagined Honey Heart Cafe that I created branding for. This website details the project's branding elements, from the logo to the color choices. The cafe is an instagrammable cafe, with pitcuresque baked treats, sweets, and drinks. It is meant to be a cute space to draw in a young female clientele as well as foodies looking for the next trendy treat.

Project: Business Card Design

This project is a business card for an imaginged business, Honey Heart Cafe. The cafe is an instagrammable cafe, with pitcuresque baked treats, sweets, and drinks. It is meant to be a cute space to draw in a young female clientele as well as foodies looking for the next trendy treat. In order to appeal to this clientele, I created an original character, Honey Heart Bear, to be the face of the brand. He can appear in several forms: as a plushie, as a decoration on food, as an icon on coffee cups. I chose to use the typeface Amatic Bold, a handwritten font in order to keep the branding friendly, approachable, and cute. The possibilities for expansion and cuteness are endless.

Project: Poster Redesign

This poster was a redesign of a poster that I saw on campus. I believed that it needed a new directon and a bit of work. For this redesign, I wanted to emulate that WHRW is a fun environment that anyone can join. I also wanted to hint towards the fact that it is a radio station, without giving too much away to ensure that people showed up to the general interest meeting.

Project: Bake A Cake! ♡ (Website)

This interactive website project was inspired by all of the games we grew up playing on our Gameboys and Nintendo DS. Particularly making a nod to the Cooking Mama game series, this 8-bit style site takes you through the steps of building a cute cake set in a picturesque kitchen. Click on the image of the stove to go to the website. ♡

Project: Mapping and Signage for Hinman Dining Hall

For this project, I was given the task of creating a building map, as well as signage, for a building on Binghamton University's campus. The goal was to make the space more legible for those who use the building. Hinman is considered to be one of the most friendly living communities with the most school spirit. This informed my color choices and typographic choices. In order to keep the friendly atmosphere, I wanted to use a rounded typeface that was both very legible and approachable. Since this font is rounded, I also decided to keep my symbols and icons rounded. They are simple representations of what can be found in the dining hall, that also have the friendly and approachable appearance. To stay consistent, I believed it was best to give my signs a rounded rectangle shape. In order to convey the school spirit aspect, I decided to stick to Binghamton University’s design guide and their selected colors, as well as add some other very similar colors. This shows that Hinman is an important community and keeps the school spirit alive. The signs would be placed in areas of food stations, as well as key areas by the entrances and navigation points (i.e. stairs, elevator, etc). Overall, this project combines an approachable atmosphere with school pride and a visual focus on food.

Project: Line Icon

For this project, we were given the task of creating a simplified personal icon that could work at various different sizes. I went the cute route with this one, since I love wearing hearts on a day to day basis. I was inspired by the cute magical girl vibe in Sailor Moon, one of my favorite childhood shows. This resulted in a shooting heart icon, soaring through space. I also created an animated version which really brought its cuteness to life. ♡

Project: Book Jacket Design

For this project, we were given the task to create a book jacket for Kurt Vonnegut's short story, "Thanasphere". We were to act as if we were designers at Penguin Random House. The first solution feature sa cigarette box illustration, a motif within the story. Contrastingly, the second cover offers a more simple, typographic and symmetry-focused solution. The spheres on the covers of this solution in particular are meant to represent the three realms explored: life, death, and the unknown.

Project: Postcard

For this project, we were given the task to create a postcard representing our place in life at the moment. It was also meant to represent our intensions for the semester. I decided to represent my newly acquired role as General Manager at WHRW for the upcoming year. This represents my pastel-colored dreams for the station, featuring the library tower that we broadcast from and fluffy clouds. Our slogan is "Keeping It Lit", so my intention for the semester is to keep that legacy alive while helping the station to thrive. The postcard accurately represents my goals, and gives an overall positive vibe.
